YOGA WITH CHRISTA
AN INSPIRING AND
ENERGISING TIME!
Christa discovered yoga for herself when she was young and has practised yoga and meditation every day ever since. She draws energy, strength and balance from nature and yoga.
For her, yoga is not “gymnastics”, nor is it a passing trend or a fashionable lifestyle. It is a way of life rooted in India that brings body, mind and soul into harmony.
This is achieved through Dhyana (meditation and positive thinking), Pranayama (breath control), Asana (physical exercises), relaxation and nutrition.
Through combining these teachings from Asia with her European Christian cultural background, she has found her own path in life.
Cheerful, life-affirming, open-minded and tolerant, with great love and affection for her fellow human beings, all living creatures and nature.
Drawing on her life experience and many years of practice, Christa has developed her own approach to the “yoga course”. She draws not only on the techniques she learned during her yoga teacher training, but also on her training and experience in many areas relating to the mind and soul.

AN INSPIRING
& POWERFUL WEEK
Hiking and Yoga in Madeira
In “Yoga & Hiking”, Christa combines her many years of experience as a hiking guide with her training as a yoga teacher to create an inspiring and energising week that engages all the senses.
Together, we begin each day with yoga exercises in the morning before setting off on our hike, and finish the day with yoga in the late afternoon before dinner. The intensity of the exercises is individually adapted to both experienced yoga practitioners and those who are new to yoga.
Everyone is invited to gently listen within and find their own centre. Depending on their mood, participants can enjoy peace and quiet or the company of their fellow hikers. The week is characterised by both thoughtful and cheerful conversations, as well as the joy of moving through nature.
The shared goal is to take the exercises we have learned into everyday life, so that even at home we can find these important moments of peace, relaxation and contentment.
TO SET THE MOOD
FOR THE YOGA WEEK
IN THE FLOW OF LIFE!
Life is like a great river. It flows steadily in one direction, sometimes fast, sometimes gentle, and often turbulent, wild and frightening.
We are born onto this river in the boat of our parents. When we are old enough, we get our own boat and first explore the surroundings of the protective parental boat. Eventually, our own boat sets out on its own journey through life. We take responsibility for our course.
It is pointless to spend our lives constantly struggling against the current. We simply do not have the strength for it. The journey continues relentlessly and inevitably towards its end. This journey of ours is our life.
With a little experience and wisdom, we can sometimes sense what awaits us around the next bend in the river. Carefully, we can glide into calmer waters and sometimes even linger in a quiet bay before the steady current of life carries us onwards again. Time spent travelling together with family and friends, our boats side by side, is a gift. With luck, we find a partner with whom we can build a shared life-boat and with whom we are allowed to share the journey. For some, the journey lasts a very long time. Others reach their destination sooner. There are many people we would have liked to travel with for longer. Some would have liked to travel for longer themselves.
But the river never stops. It never ends. It flows on forever, without beginning and without end. Only our own journey has a beginning and an end within this infinite flow. Our responsibility is to use the time we have been given to make our own journey, and the journeys of all those travelling with us, as happy and meaningful as possible.
You are the meaning of this journey. Make your time meaningful, and do not waste the time you have been given.
