Can I book accommodation only?
During our advertised hiking weeks, we need all the rooms for our hiking guests. Outside these periods, we rent the rooms either on a bed-and-breakfast basis or as holiday apartments.
How far is the Quinta from Santa Cruz?
The Quinta is located in the municipality of Santa Cruz, about 300 metres above Santa Cruz. It is approximately 2 km from the Quinta to the centre of Santa Cruz. The walk downhill takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and uphill about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your fitness level. A taxi costs approximately €6–8 each way, depending on the time of day. There are always plenty of taxis, and the reception will be happy to order one for you.
Several times a day, a public bus stops 50 metres from the Quinta and takes you into town. Timetables are available in the rooms.
How far is the Quinta from Funchal?
It is 17 km from the Quinta to Funchal’s old town. There are express buses from Santa Cruz to Funchal at least once an hour. The journey takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes. A taxi costs approximately €
Where can I have dinner?
Dinner is served at the Quinta at least four times a week. On the other days, we are happy to arrange dinner at local restaurants. The reception can make restaurant reservations for you.
There are many small local restaurants and traditional eateries in Santa Cruz.
Which rooms have sea views?
All rooms at the Quinta have sea views!
Is there a golf course nearby?
Yes! Santo da Serra Golf Club is just 4 km away. It offers a beautiful 27-hole golf course with breathtaking views and excellent conditions all year round.
How large are the single rooms?
All single rooms at Quinta dos Artistas are double rooms for single occupancy and are approximately 28 m² in size, including the bathroom.
Are there twin beds that can be separated?

How far is the airport?
The transfer from the airport to the Quinta takes about 12 minutes.
You won’t hear any aircraft noise at the Quinta, as we are not located in the airport’s flight path.
